Vermifiltration uses a power-free self-sustaining ecosystem of worms and other organisms to break down and recycle black water that comes from the toilet and kitchen waste to convert the solids into water soluble nutrients.

Grey water (from showers, baths, laundry and sinks etc) is separated from black water before treatment begins and is treated through natural settling and filtering processes.

Once the liquid from the black water is treated through vermiculture and media filtration, it is recombined with the grey water and disposed into the soil.
